I've been exploring working on some more herbal artwork for a possible larger project that will be a completely hand-illustrated coloring book + a full color version. This image is an exploration of the Traditional Western Herbalism constitutions/temperaments, tied to the elements and also the moon phases. This has the constitutional connections to the wheel of the seasons. A useful tool for anyone who is looking to tie the herbal temperaments to the elements and cycle of the moon and sun. To say that it has been a challenging week here in

To say that it has been a challenging week here in the United States is an understatement. I’m not really ready to talk about it much. I won’t be having a blog post this week. I have two ready to go, but, neither feels like the right topic right now. I do have something I want to write, but I’m going to need more than just a few few days to write it.

So this week, I’m just going to take some quiet time to heal and process. So many of us are going through so many emotions, cycles and waves of emotions, it’s been so intense.

I think the hardest thing about it is that you are so sad, so full of so many different emotions. And then you can forget about it for a minute, maybe get immersed in something else. Maybe go to sleep, and then you wake up or you come out of what you were doing and suddenly it all hits you again. Like this is a very deep and powerful grief, coupled with fear, coupled with shock…

I’m also holding space for those who are even more vulnerable to this new regime.

This is a work in progress, I’m not sure if it’s done. But it came out of me yesterday! I had done this background a while ago… and was waiting to see what it would become. I do a lot of this kind of painting, very intuitive. Making backgrounds and then seeing what wants to come forth. I love the little mushrooms! I really love the winter time for painting, I find everything very inspirational, more than summer.
